Weggis

he small idyllic resort of Weggis lies at 435 metres on the shores of Lake Lucerne. A 45 minute cruise on the lake separates Weggis from the lively town of Lucerne; a destination well worth visiting with an excellent range of restaurants, bars and shops.

For a superb, panoramic view from the summit of Mount Rigi (on a clear day you can see as far as the Black Forest) take the boat to Vitznau and then the old cog railway up to Rigi Kulm. You can either return the same way, or descend by cable car back to Weggis.

Weggis hosts a range of festivals throughout the year including the Katina festival (May/June), the Herissa festival of Swiss folk music (June) and the Rose festival in July.
