Walking Weeks

Taking you from Davos to Arosa and Lenzerheide, this tour allows you to see the best of Graubunden, at your own pace, with your luggage waiting for you as you arrive at each resort for a well-earned overnight rest. Whilst there is no guide accompanying you, a detailed itinerary is provided along with high quality maps and extensive notes. Shortcuts and longer detours are described, so you can follow your own route. Cable cars and buses can take most of the uphill strain. Each walking day can be comfortably completed in 6 hours.

  • Day 1 - Fly to Zurich and transfer to the Sunstar Parkhotel in Davos for your 1st night.
  • Day 2 & 3 - At leisure in Davos. Take advantage of your hotel's leisure facilities, or ask about the excursions on offer.
  • Day 4 - Walk (or cable car) to Panoramaweg, then walk across the Strelpass and down the Sapuner valley to Langweis, where the train departs for Arosa and a night at the Sunstar Parkhotel.
  • Day 5 - Enjoy the town and twin lakes of Arosa, swim in the lido or hire a sailing dinghy. The cog railway runs a frequent service to Chur, Switzerland's oldest town.
  • Day 6 - Walk or catch a bus and cable car to Hornli at 2500m. Then downhill to Scharmoin and the middle stage of the Rothorn cable car. Ride down to the outskirts of Lenzerheide and an easy stroll to the Sunstar hotel.
  • Day 7 - Explore the area around the waters of Heidsee. Many activities are on offer such assailing, cycling, riding and fishing.
  • Day 8 - The efficient Swiss public transport network returns you to Zurich Airport via Chur, or extend your stay in Switzerland at any of the delightful hotels on our website.

Swiss National Park
With an area of 172sq km, the Swiss National Park is the largest nature reserve and only national park in Switzerland. The region is in Engadin/Munstertal and encompasses alpine terrain at altitudes of 1,400 to 3,200 meters above sea level. The foundation of the Swiss National Park in 1914 was a milestone in the history of nature conservation. It was the first national park of the Alps and central Europe, and is famed for its abundance of alpine flora and fauna in a pristine landscape

Bernina Express
A unique journey of approx 5 hours linking the resorts of Davos or St Moritz to Tirano with a three-hour post bus connection to Lugano. The Bernia Express is the highest rail journey in Europe, climbing to an incredible 2253m above sea level and connects northern and southern Switzerland in a truly relaxed and uniquely beautiful way. This amazing experience, takes you on an unforgettable journey past impressive glaciers and the beauty of the Alps to the warm Mediterranean climate and relaxed ambience of the south. In the summer of 2008, the section between Thusis and Tirano was classified as a UNESCO World Heritage site

Glacier Express
A unique 8 hour journey from Davos or St Moritz across the Swiss Alps to Zermatt and the world famous Matterhorn. The Glacier Express, the world's slowest Express train, runs daily between Zermatt and St Moritz or Davos or vice versa. The train climbs to an impressive 2033m via Oberwald and Realp. There is either a restaurant car or 'in seat' catering on the train so you can enjoy a relaxing lunch as you pass through alpine meadows, dramatic mountain peaks and deep gorges. Seat reservations are necessary as are reservations for lunch (please ask for details).
