Wengen

Set on a sunny south facing plateau at 1274m above the Lauterbrunnen Valley and with the famous Jungfrau as a backdrop, this charming and picturesque village has long been a popular choice. It is a lively little place with cosy bars and cafes with open terraces and local stublis.  here are also regular folklore evenings and concerts.

There are some beautiful walks all marked with the walking times. Take the little railway up to Kleine Scheidegg at the foot of the Eiger and enjoy a wonderful walk back to Wengen.  Interlaken is just forty five minutes away and is well worth a visit, or you can enjoy a cruise on one of its two beautiful lakes.

Wengen is en route to the famous Jungfraujoch at 3455m and this is a must for every visitor. Early summer brings a profusion of alpine flowers, whilst the September sun seems to make everything glow with a golden hue.
