Adelboden
We love it for:
- Wonderful Alpine walks with up to 300km of marked trails
- Peaceful village location
- Family friendly resort
Two tranquil picturesque villages in the heights of the Bernese Oberland, Adelboden and Lenk provide the ideal base for keen hikers, or for a relaxing holiday away from it all. The extensive lift system allows a full exploration of the Schwandfeldspitz, Hahnermoos and Metsch areas from mid June, whilst there are always delightful riverside walks available along the valley floor.
Adelboden's 15th century church hosts concerts throughout the summer months and horse-drawn carriages are available for a tour of the village. Lenk's attractions include the spectacular Iffigen falls, themed walking or cycling itineraries and numerous tranquil tarns in the mountains overlooking the Simmental valley.
Adelboden village offers miles of attractive walks for all standards from gentle low-lying tracks to high alpine hiking and lies over the mountains from Kandersteg to the east and Lenk to the west. There are eight diverse Nordic walking trails in the Adelboden-Fruitigen region plus there is the Floral Mountain trail. The natural formations hidden in the region that cannot go undiscovered include the 2,000 feet high Engstligen waterfalls, which can be reached by foot from Adelboden in one and a half hours or by bus.
