Activities in Switzerland

Switzerland Activities
Walking the Roof of Europe:

The Swiss lakes and mountains offers a superb walking country, with a large network of clearly marked paths and signs giving approximate distances and times for all levels of fitness. Crisp, clear mountain air and high vantage points offer up some of the biggest, most spectacular views in Europe - with jagged, snow-capped peaks etched across wide blue skies.  You may catch a glimpse of a mountain deer or marmottes whose whistling calls can be heard across the mountains.

If you've never visited the region before, we'd recommend the Bernese Oberland area of Wengen/Grindelwald and Mürren - spotless little villages perched on a mountain terrace - for their mix of easy to navigate trails, amazing mountain scenery, and vivid, flower-scented valleys. With mountain scenery this big, even the most adventurous will appreciate the excellent network of mountain railways, post buses and cable cars which can take the hard work out of the slopes.

Walking Weeks in Switzerland:

Walking weeks in Switzerland will help you to get the most out of a walking holiday.  Take the opportunity to be guided by local experts, who can point out the best routes and views, or interesting  flora and fauna, as you stroll through the spectacular Swiss countryside. Guided walks are taken at a sensible pace, with the emphasis on enjoyment of the sensational environment, rather than covering vast distances. Walking weeks are available in Saas-Fee, Bernese Oberland region or the Graubunden region.
