Walking, Active & Spa Holidays in Switzerland
Walking holidays in Switzerland

Switzerland's lakes and mountains resorts offer superb walking opportunities to all levels of walkers and hikers. Resorts and regions attract keen walkers with their large networks
of clearly marked paths and signs giving approximate distances and
times. Routes can be tailored to individual fitness levels and the efficient transport system of mountain railways and summer lifts can be used to shorten walks or access trails higher up.
Crisp, clear mountain air and high vantage points offer up some of the biggest, most spectacular views in Europe - with jagged, snow-capped peaks etched across wide blue skies. You may
catch a glimpse of a mountain deer or marmottes whose whistling calls
can be heard across the mountains.
If you've never visited the region before, we'd recommend the
Bernese Oberland region, in particular the mountain villages of
Wengen, Grindelwald and
Mürren for their mix of easy to navigate trails, amazing mountain scenery, and vivid, flower-scented valleys. With mountain scenery this big, even the most adventurous will appreciate the excellent network of mountain railways, post buses and cable cars which can take the hard work out of the slopes.
Self-guided walking holidays
If you've never tried a walking holiday before, we'd recommend our
Bernese Oberland Walking Week. This three-centre walking holiday follows the famous Bear Trail from the mountain resorts of Wengen to Grindelwald and onto Meiringen. This is a self-guided walking holiday where you are provided with detailed route notes and maps which allow you can tailor the length of the walks using the summer lifts to shorten the route. We organise for your luggage to be transferred between hotels.
